The investment volume in the CEE & SEE region reached EUR 3.66 billion at the end of Q2 2020. In comparison with the second quarter of 2019, we can observe a decrease of 23%. Eighty investment  transactions were concluded with an average ticket size of EUR 46 million.

During the second quarter of 2020, the highest volumes in the CEE & SEE region were registered for the office sector with a share of 54% of the total investment volume, followed by the retail sector with 13% and residential and mixed-use segment each claiming a share of 11%.

Even if Q2 was strong, the estimations for the second half of the year are limited due to the impact of COVID – 19.

In 2021 we expect to see a return to a quarterly or annual volume over EUR 1 billion, especially for Austria and the CEE countries, this on the back of our view that demand for property as an investment class generally will not be impaired.
